Course Description About This Course
To provide the fundamentals of both Internal and External Dosimetry, as these relate to radiation exposures. These recognize and discuss the implications of radiation pathways can include radiation from external sources as well as ingested and inhaled sources.

Who Should Attend
Technical personnel, program managers, health officials, medical practitioners, regulators, and homeland security officials responsible for controlling radiation doses and determining the health effects of radiation.

Key Topics You'll Learn About
  • Types of radiation
  • Epidemiology of radiation
  • Health effects of radiation (high doses and low doses)
  • Selected Radiation Accidents and Doses
  • Regulatory requirements (such as 10CFR 835)
  • Measurement techniques
  • Committed dose equivalent methods
  • Estimating intake and identity of radionuclides
  • Methodologies for Calculating/estimating doses
  • Dose evaluations
  • Record keeping requirements
How You'll Benefit from This Course
